The reason for this is that many people do not suffer any symptoms when they have high blood pressure, and usually the condition is not detected until you have a physical exam when you visit the doctor.

It has been thought for many years that the relationship between salt and high blood pressure was to blame. Many scientific researches have been done regarding salt and high blood pressure, and though salt is not the cause, it can exacerbate your condition.

Being obese is another cause of high blood pressure. Often people who are overweight eat poor diets, and salt and high blood pressure can be linked in this instance. Eating an unhealthy diet can cause many medical conditions that include heart disease and other debilitating conditions. Eating a diet a high sodium diet can not only be a link between salt and high blood pressure, but other dangerous conditions as well.

There are many foods that are high in sodium, and if you are worried about salt and high blood pressure, it may be time you start reading sodium levels on the ingredients list. Salt and high blood pressure can be effectively treated when you begin to eat a diet that is high in protein, low in fats and sodium, and is balanced by the proper whole grains.

The connection between salt and high blood pressure has gotten a bad rap in the past. It wasn’t understood that salt and high blood pressure though related, is not the cause. Since the first findings of the causes of high blood pressure have been done, research has advanced in many ways.

To avoid aggravating your high blood pressure, try and lose some weight and begin an exercise program. When you are living as a couch potato, it is not healthy. Try to fight the connection between salt and high blood pressure by keeping yourself well hydrated by drinking at least eight 8 ounce glasses of water daily.

Drinking more than three alcoholic drinks per day can also contribute to high blood pressure. If you don’t eat properly and have the proper minerals and vitamins such as calcium, potassium and magnesium that your body needs to work its best, you will only make your high blood pressure worse.
