Symptoms Of High Blood Pressure? There May Be None

By: Nicky Patterson

In most cases the symptoms of high blood pressure can be difficult to see. High blood pressure is usually something your doctor finds while doing your annual checkup and that is why your annual checkup is so very important. In some cases the symptoms of high blood pressure go unnoticed because they can be considered part of everyday life. Some of the symptoms of high blood pressure are continued fatigue, constant headaches, a feeling and look of your face being flush, and even the ringing in your ears known as tinnitus. But in most cases there are very few symptoms of high blood pressure and if your doctor is not looking for high blood pressure then your doctor may not find it.

The trick with the symptoms of high blood pressure is that they usually do not show themselves until it is much too late to do anything about them. When high blood pressure, also known as hypertension, reaches incredibly high rates it is referred to as accelerated hypertension. Even accelerated hypertension is does not really show any symptoms until it starts shutting down internal organs and the patient begins to enter a very dangerous phase of the disease. If left untreated hypertension can begin to affect the brain and even start causing pressure within your skull. If it reaches that point then it can become fatal.

A Long List Of Associated Conditions

While the symptoms of high blood pressure may be difficult to see, the results of not treating high blood pressure can become very evident over time. Hypertension that is allowed to accelerate can cause stroke, heart attack, and even damage to your eyes and your eyesight. Women who are pregnant can also develop hypertension and this does not offer any symptoms either but if it is left untreated it can become disastrous.

The symptoms of high blood pressure do not allow the condition to stand out and cause the patient to seek immediate help. However the effects of untreated high blood pressure can be catastrophic and even, in some case, fatal. If you do not treat the symptoms of high blood pressure that you do get then the end result could be terrible. In many cases high blood pressure is found by your doctor during your routine annual checkup and in many cases this is the only way your doctor can know you have high blood pressure. High blood pressure is just one more reason why it is a good idea to see your doctor for a checkup at least once every year.
