The Viscous Cycle of Opportunity

By: Bill Truax

In prospecting the more you do, the more you get, the less you
do the more important every prospecting call becomes.

The same seems to hold true in every aspect of life. The rich
get richer and the poor get poorer, not because of anything
specific to a class of people, but to their attitude and
starting to do what gives them the freedom to grow and prosper.

We all know highly educated people who don't seem to be doing
too well and we all know people who are doing very well despite
no apparent background to have success.

I believe that people make their own success despite their
history and we have all seen this repeatedly. But seeing and
appreciating it and actually doing it yourself is a very
different thing.

The Viscous Cycle of Opportunity comes from the ever more
obvious fact that a person who is proactive, who takes control
of his/her life generates a tremendous amount of positive
activity in their world. All of this positive activity gives
them a power to forge ahead when they run into opposition or
failure. I see far too many people who are fast to quit when
they face a little challenge.

On the other hand there is a growing breed of entrepreneurs in
this country that are willing to face the risks either because
they have the yearning to be their own boss or because of a
downsizing that they never want to face again. Whatever the
reason these folks see that the more they take control they more
control they have. It almost seems unfair to those who are
afraid to go out on their own. Success is infinite, so there are
many people who can enjoy it. We can never run out of success in
America.

Your future is dependent on what you do today. What you do today
determines your future. The future is dependent on the present.
