How to Become a Web Marketing Specialist!

Learn by doing, active involvement. That’s the uniqueness of

I first started learning Internet Marketing back in 1994 as a

To promote the site I registered with the few existing search

the web site and e-mail addresses. As the traffic started to
dribble in I registered more keywords with the search engines
and offered free give away contests, encouraged links with other
related sites, and started posting on newsgroups to
significantly increase traffic. I still have scars from a ton of
"flames" received from thousands who didn't appreciate my
commercial interests on their bulletin boards. In the end my
site not only paid for itself but it began to make good money as
the traffic and popularity increased. Now in 1994 that was a
significant achievement considering 95% on the web sites weren't
making money.

Since then more millionaires have been made through the Internet
than any other vehicle to date. Bill Gates recently referred to
the Internet as the "Gold Rush of the 21st. century". There is a
huge monster mountain of cash being transacted online every day
but would you believe, still only about 5% of all web sites are
making money? It's interesting that that statistic hasn't
changed even though the Internet opportunity has skyrocketed and
spread world wide so dramatically.

Some self-proclaimed Internet marketing wizards are very adept
at convincingly you that they have the secret to overnight
millions. With very little or no seed money and with an minimum
of time and effort on your part required. But it will cost you
something like $99.95 for a ticket to see the show. Perhaps it
did happen that way once for someone but seriously let's wake up
and smell the coffee. The chances of that happening for you are
slim to none and you know it especially if you've invested in
some of these programs.

Don't get me wrong you can make a living online and a pretty
good one too. Even become filthy rich if your committed, patient
and willing to spend the time to learn how to develop a good
rock solid plan and then to work your plan. In other words
Internet Marketing in that sense is no different than marketing
an offline business. Requiring specialized knowledge, skill,
capitol investment and a rock solid plan with the determination
to spend the time, resources and effort required work the plan.

that are ideally suited for the strengths of the Internet. To
