Jack Vettriano has been a figure of some controversy in the art
world in Scotland and the UK , although his popularity as an
artist remains undiminished . First of all his agent at the
Portland Gallery objected to a painting which he claimed was a
copy of one of Vettriano's works . A couple of weeks later it
was revealed that Vettriano himself had copied one of his most
famous images from a £20 art book . The controversy has done
nothing for the reputation of Vettriano his print sales remain
at an all time high . The Singing Butler is his best selling
image . The original painting sold for £750,000 last year .
Dance me to the End of Love , Billy Boys and In Thoughts of You
are also very popular as prints . His style can be called art
deco and often feature women languidly stretching out on a couch
with a man in the background . His painting of Along Came a
Spider is classic Vettriano . Table for One and the Game of Life
are equally popular and quickly sold out when they were
published as silkscreen prints last year . Vettriano has just
published 2 new limited edition prints - Just Another Day and
Beautiful dreamer . They are giclee prints and signed by the
artist
