Tanning beds are very popular. Before you use tanning beds you
should know a little about them.
There are people who are really against tanning beds because of
the risks of skin cancer. Others believe that moderate tanning
in tanning beds is safe.
Another concern of those wanting to use tanning beds is the risk
of AIDS or STD’s. If the tanning beds in the salon you use are
properly cleaned this should not be a problem.
It may be a better idea to tan in tanning beds than in the sun.
When you use tanning beds the conditions are controlled and you
will not have to worry about sunburn.
When using tanning beds you have a choice of what to wear. Most
people choose to wear nothing in tanning beds while others wear
a swimsuit, shorts or underwear.
There is a myth that you can roast your internal organs when
using tanning beds. This is not true and is nothing to worry
about.
Do you need to wear protective eyewear in tanning beds? Always!
If you itch after using tanning beds it is probably because you
have dry skin or a photosensitive reaction. You may need to stop
using the tanning beds if this is an ongoing problem.
Scars will not tan well in tanning beds or in the sun. It is a
good idea to use a sunscreen so the scar will not burn.
Some people worry about their hair color being changed when they
use tanning beds. If this does happen, it should be a very
slight color change.
Tanning beds are an easy and fast way to tan. Use common sense
and know the risks before you tan.
